Dan was a youth athlete through High School in basketball and baseball, and multiple injuries during his young career inspired him to pursue the study of sports rehabilitation. Dan grew up in Maryland, where he attended undergraduate at Towson University with a Major in Biology and emphasis in exercise science. Dan moved to San Diego in 2012 to study for his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine in San Marcos, CA, where he graduated in 2015. His doctorate curriculum at St. Augustine emphasized manual therapy techniques, biomechanics, and joint arthrokinematics, which are a focus of his practice.

Other inspirations for his practice include Kelly Starrett’s Movement and Mobility System for optimizing movement quality and performance, and Dr. Stuart McGill's "McGill Method" for Diagnosing and treatment of various spine disorders. Dan's education and experience has led to a whole body clinical approach emphasizing postural, gait, and functional movement assessment to identify movement dysfunction, and using manual therapy techniques, functional mobilizations, and therapeutic exercise and neuromuscluar facilitation to reeducate movement patterns. Additional clinical interests include sports nutrition, myofascial integration, and regenerative medicine. Dan enjoys surfing and snowboarding, as well as staying physically fit.
